About PerUnitPrice

PerUnitPrice is an independent price comparison site. Instead of showing the cheapest box, we show what you get for your money: the price per terabyte, per gigabyte or per other unit that matters for the product.

Where the data comes from

All listings come from eBay US through eBay's official public API. We only use Buy It Now listings that are located in the United States and ship within the US. The tables are refreshed automatically several times a day, and each page shows the time of the last update. Prices can change at any moment; the price shown on eBay when you buy is the one that applies.

How we calculate and filter

Price per unit is the item price plus shipping, divided by the capacity. Lots with several items are counted by their total capacity. When eBay does not report a shipping cost, the listing is marked "+ ship" and ranked as if shipping were about $10.

To keep the tables useful we remove listings for parts or repair, accessories sold without the product, listings with an operating system preinstalled, mixed lots, and offers that are suspiciously far below every comparable listing. For hard drives we keep server-only SAS drives in a separate tab and exclude host-managed SMR drives and drives pulled from storage arrays from the main table, because they do not work in ordinary computers.

Independence

PerUnitPrice is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by eBay. Listings are ranked only by price per unit; nobody can pay to be placed higher. Some links are affiliate links — see our affiliate disclosure.
