Buying tips
EPYC 7742: 64 cores, Rome, socket SP3, DDR4 memory. SP3 takes EPYC 7001 (Naples), 7002 (Rome) and 7003 (Milan). Rome and Milan need a board with a matching BIOS (Rome-ready / Milan-ready). Many used EPYC chips are vendor-locked (AMD PSB) to Dell, HPE or Lenovo boards and will not boot in any other board. Vendor lock: many used EPYC and Threadripper PRO chips were fused to Dell, HPE or Lenovo boards (AMD Platform Secure Boot) and will not boot anywhere else. Listings that say "locked" are hidden by default; listings that say nothing may still be locked — ask the seller. Engineering samples (ES) can have lower clocks, bugs or need special BIOS; they are hidden by default. Qualification samples (QS) are usually identical to retail chips.
How this table works
We collect Buy It Now listings from eBay US several times a day and divide the total price, including
shipping, by the number of cores. Only processors we can identify by model are listed, and the core count comes from
the model, not from the listing title (titles are often wrong). Lots are counted by their total cores; pairs are shown
by default, bulk lots of three or more only when you tick the box. We remove coolers, brackets and tools, CPU and
motherboard bundles, damaged chips and offers far below every other listing for the same model.
