Buying tips
Buy matched cells (same capacity and internal resistance) from one batch, and budget for a BMS, busbars and a case. "Grade A" is a seller claim — many cheap cells are B-grade or reclaimed; listings that show a capacity test are safer. Price per kWh is the fairest way to compare batteries of different sizes: a 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 battery stores 1.28 kWh, a 12V 200Ah 2.56 kWh, a 48V 100Ah server-rack battery 5.12 kWh. Check the BMS current rating against your inverter, whether the battery has low-temperature charge protection if it will be charged below freezing, and the warranty. Very cheap no-name listings sometimes overstate capacity.
How this table works
We collect Buy It Now listings from eBay US several times a day and divide the total price, including shipping, by the stored energy: nominal voltage (12.8 V, 25.6 V, 38.4 V, 51.2 V or 3.2 V per cell) times the amp-hours in the title, times the number of batteries in the listing. We remove chargers, BMS boards, cables, cases and other accessories, solar kits and power stations, lead-acid and other lithium chemistries, listings that offer several sizes in one ("7Ah/100Ah"), batteries under 50 Ah and prices that are too low to be real.
